Drywalling Services

 Drywall, also known as plasterboard, wallboard, or gypsum board, comes in various types tailored for specific applications and requirements. Here are the different kinds of drywall: 

Regular Drywall (White Board)

Moisture-Resistant Drywall (Green Board)

Moisture-Resistant Drywall (Green Board)

  • Description: The most common type, typically white on one side and brown on the other.
  • Thickness: Generally available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" thicknesses.
  • Use: Ideal for walls and ceilings in residential and commercial buildings.

Moisture-Resistant Drywall (Green Board)

  • Description: Features a green coating that makes it more resistant to moisture than regular drywall.

  • Use: Suitable for areas with some moisture exposure, like bathrooms and basements, but not for direct water contact (not waterproof).

Mold-Resistant Drywall (Purple Board)

  •  Description: Similar to green board but with added mold inhibitors.
  • Thickness: Typically found in 1/2" and 5/8" thicknesses.

Mold-Resistant Drywall (Purple Board)

  • Description: Contains non-combustible fibers to enhance fire resistance.
  • Thickness: Usually 5/8", but also available in 1/2".
  • Use: Required by building codes for fire-rated walls and ceilings, especially in garages, utility rooms, and between living spaces and attached garages.

Plasterboard (Blue Board)

  • Description: Thicker and denser than regular drywall, often composed of multiple layers of material including gypsum, polymers, and metal.
  • Thickness: Typically around 5/8" or more.
  • Use: Used in areas where sound control is essential, such as home theaters, music studios, and multi-family housing.

  • Description: Designed specifically for a plaster veneer finish.

  •  Description: Uses a fiberglass mat instead of paper, making it more resistant to mold and mildew.

  • Use: Suitable for high-humidity areas and places prone to mold growth.

  • Description: Thinner drywall that can be bent to create curved surfaces.
  • Thickness: Usually 1/4" thick.
  • Use: Used for creating curved walls and ceilings.

Lead-Lined Drywall

Lead-Lined Drywall

  • Description: Regular drywall with a lead sheet inside for radiation protection.
  • Thickness: Varies, but typically around 5/8".
  • Use: Used in medical facilities, x-ray rooms, and laboratories to protect against radiation.

 Each type of drywalling services serves a specific purpose and is chosen based on the needs of the project, whether it's for moisture resistance, fire protection, soundproofing, or environmental considerations.
